Why we stand out

40 Years of award-winning expertise and experience

Oakdon is a Panivox product built on RichCast, the interactive platform created by Andrew and Philip Oliver, among the best-known game developers in the UK.

With more than four decades of experience in interactive storytelling and game design, they developed over 50 titles from 1983 to 1993, including Dizzy, which became one of the most recognised game characters of the 1980s.

That matters because Oakdon is not simply a digital trail with a payment model. It is shaped by the same principles that make games genuinely engaging: curiosity, progression, reward, character and a reason to keep going.

For venues, that means an experience designed to feel worthwhile for visitors and commercially credible for the teams promoting it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do visitors need to download an app?

No. The experience is entirely browser-based, launched via QR code or printed materials. Visitors tap or scan and play — no download required.

Does the venue need excellent WIFI?

Customers can use WIFI or their own mobile-enabled connection (5G)

What does the venue need to provide to get going?

Space to display POS materials and willing staff to promote the experience. Panivox handles all technology, content and ongoing support. To get the trail set up and localised, we will need 5 questions and locations for the trail, and your logo!

Is it going to take too much time to set up?

After contacting us, all you need to do is fill out a short form to have the Oakdon trail adapted for your venue. (5 questions/locations relevant to your venue and your logo.)

After that, we do all the work to make changes to the tech, and finally, you just need to pop the QR code at your entrance and help let customers know about it!

How quickly can we launch?

Most venues can go live within a few days of signing up, once POS materials are ready and the experience is set up.

Can we add different titles across the year?

Yes. Oakdon is an annual programme. Venues can run seasonal titles at Halloween, Christmas, Easter and summer, with Koby available as an always-on option.

How is venue income calculated?

Visitors pay £5 per download. Commercial terms are agreed directly with each venue. Final figures depend on VAT, delivery costs, sales mix and agreed terms.

When do we receive our revenue?

Depending on the model and our individual commercial terms, revenue will either be instant (if split at source) or monthly in arrears

Can replay terms be customised?

Access and replay terms can be tailored to your venue programme. Repeat-play options can be discussed as part of setup.

What support does Panivox provide?

Panivox handles build, launch support, content updates and ongoing technical support throughout the programme.

Does Oakdon work as well on a museum or heritage site as a family attraction like a farm park?

Yes. Oakdon works equally well for museums, heritage properties and family venues. The trail format is flexible enough to suit indoor, outdoor and mixed environments.

Can you create unique trails for our venue, and do they have to be Oakdon?

Panivox is an interactive multimedia studio with over 40 years of game development and innovation experience, meaning we can work with you to create your very own experience or design something absolutely unique to your venue. The only limit is your imagination. We would love to co-create something unique with you.
